Purpose of the Part

The Bendix® 2772866 / ASL2772866 Hydro-Max power brake booster is used in hydraulic brake systems to reduce brake pedal effort and help apply braking force more effectively. The Hydro-Max booster uses hydraulic pressure, typically from the power steering or brake pump circuit, to assist brake pedal input and transfer amplified force to the master cylinder. This part is especially important on medium-duty and commercial vehicles where reliable brake assist is required for safe stopping performance. The Hydro-Max system also includes a flow-switch-controlled backup pump function to provide reduced hydraulic assist if normal hydraulic flow is interrupted.
