Purpose of the Part

Volvo consolidated the driver's door controls into one module on the Gen 3 cab. Rather than separate switches wired individually, the 24201770 carries window, mirror aim and mirror heat through a single 18 pin connector into the door harness.

Issue Symptoms / When to Replace

The usual complaint is one function gone while the rest still work: a window that will not go up, a mirror that will not aim, or mirror heat that never clears frost. Buttons that need to be pressed hard, held at an angle, or hit twice are worn contacts and will get worse.

Brand Information

Volvo Trucks is part of the Volvo Group and builds the VNL and VNR series for the North American market. The Gen 3 cab, launched for the 2018 model year, uses this integrated door module across both the VNL 760 and 860 sleepers and the VNR regional tractor.

Installation Notes

Plug and play. No programming, wiring changes or cutting required - remove the old panel, transfer the 18 pin connector, and test all three functions before reseating the trim.

How to Identify an OEM Part

A genuine unit carries a white Volvo label on the module with the Volvo wordmark across the top and the part number below it. Confirm that number matches 24201770.
