Purpose of the Part

The 3017691C91 sits in the doser supply circuit and acts as the on/off gate for doser fluid. During a regeneration the ECM opens the valve so fluid can reach the doser; when dosing ends the valve closes so nothing continues to feed the exhaust stream. A valve stuck closed starves the doser, and a valve that fails to seal lets fluid pass when it should not.

Issue Symptoms / When to Replace

Regens that fail to complete or never initiate, doser circuit fault codes, and aftertreatment derate. A valve that leaks past its seat can put fluid into the exhaust outside of a commanded regen, which shows up as abnormal exhaust temperatures or fuel odor.
