The Detroit Diesel EA0034461202 is the genuine CPC4, or 4th generation Common Powertrain Controller, out of the 2014 to 2016 Freightliner Cascadia. It is the communication hub for the powertrain. It takes data from sensors like the throttle and brake and manages the communication between the other modules, the ECM and the TCM. Without the CPC the powertrain will not run at all.

Purpose of the Part

The CPC is the go between for the driver and the engine ECM. Every input from the cab lands here first and gets passed along, and everything coming back the other way, gauge readings, warning lamps, fault info, comes through it too. It also stores the parameters the fleet or dealer set up. Lose the CPC and the truck goes dead even with a healthy engine.

Installation Notes

Programming is required. The module has to be flashed to the VIN with DiagnosticLink before the truck runs, so it needs to go to a Detroit dealer or a shop with DDDL. Have the settings pulled off the old module first if it still communicates.

Batteries off before unplugging, and fix any corroded pins or damaged wiring before the new one goes in.

Check the factory label for the Daimler number written in the A 003 446 13 02 style, with the serial number and barcode. Make sure it matches your order and that no second label has been printed over the original.
