Purpose of the Part

A Fuller FRO is a range transmission. The main box gives the driver one set of gears, and a range section doubles them, which is why a 10 speed has five gear positions and a range switch. Moving that range section takes more force than a cable or linkage would carry, so Eaton does it with air.

The K3245 is the valve module that makes it happen. Air comes in from the truck supply, the driver's selection at the knob tells the module which way to send it, and the module routes it to the actuator that moves the range or splitter.

Issue Symptoms / When to Replace

The complaint is almost always a range that will not change. The truck holds low range and will not go high, or holds high and drops out of low, or the splitter stops responding while the main box shifts normally.

Note the air line routing before disconnecting anything. The lines land on specific ports and crossing two of them will produce a shift fault on a new module.
